Collectibles: Passes, Transports & Weapons

Passes

Passes are basically a sheet of parchment or scroll that allows you to pass certain roadblocks that may appear in your way. Some are pretty simple - they may allow you to pass through the Guardian of the Midlands without a fight - while a few can be quite beneficial like passing by the Palace Guard or ignoring a creature in the Msytic Realm.

Passes are prized items and they can only be acquired by random event or by taking them from a rival via victory spoils. They cannot be bought or sold and they're never left on the map for someone else to pick up. They also don't count towards your collectibles limit but you can only have one pass. Here's a sample of a pass along with it's description, followed by some samples of other passes:

Transports

Transports are animals that you can ride and receive a variety of benefits for riding them like increased travel distance or enhanced fighting abilities. Normal movement rules restricts travel for any companions you have in your party to 6 movement points (MP) so there are times when you have to weigh the benefits of traveling too far vs. keeping your party intact. However, you can have more than one transport and a companion can ride the extra one. Transports may be bought and sold at the market.

Weapons

Weapons obviously increase your battle stats with a few having some nice special abilities. They may be bought and sold at the blacksmith's shop. The two main varieties are 'bladed' and 'pummeling'. Bladed weapons may be used to build rafts and boats providing you have the extra appropriate equipment. This makes them generally more favored than pummeling weapons but there may be situations where you may wish you had a pummeling weapon over a bladed one ...like skeletons.

This was, by far, they most difficult set of graphics to get. AI art generators are simply terrible at making weapon graphics beyond rudimentary items like a sword or a dagger. So, I had to produce 3 times as many images as I needed and then do a lot of compositing, alterations, adjustments, etc. but I think I ended up with some good stuff.
